This evening spend time at leisure or relax at your hotel.

Dinner is at leisure this evening. Some suggestions that you may consider for fine dining are: La Pergola (3 Michelin stars), Il Pagliaccio (2 Michelin stars), Agata e Romeo (1 Michelin star), Il Convivio-Troianior L’Altro Mastai. (paid locally)

A special Programme for Children is also available at the Hotel de Russie.  Under new Roman law, hotels charge a small amount per traveller per day as a “tourist tax”, which needs to be paid locally through your hotel in Rome. Amounts may vary, but currently the cost is 2EUR per person for 2* & 3* hotels and 3EUR for 4* & 5* hotels. The charges will be added to your bill upon check out and are non-negotiable.

Day 2: Rome – Bolsena – San Casciano dei Bagni

After breakfast transfer by limousine from your hotel to Civitavecchia’s Porto Riva di Traiano, the nearest port on the Roman coast. Sip a welcome aperitif in the exclusive Sporting Yacht Club followed by a dedicated Ferrari briefing, with the cars scenically displayed in front of the yachts. Your private Tour Director will explain the finer details of the controls of your Ferrari, focusing on how to handle the F1 paddle-gear shifting behind the steering wheel. In the meantime, your luggage will be whisked away by VIP shuttle and you will find it later on in your hotel room. After some time to practice behind the wheel of your Ferrari and haven taken a guided test drive, depart along the panoramic and enchanting roads of the mythical Mille Miglia towards southern Tuscany, passing Viterbo, Bolsena, Acquapendente, and Radicofani. Throughout the journey, the Ferraris and the Tour Director’s Alfa Romeo will be in touch by walkie-talkie. Today’s destination is the Fonteverde Natural Spa Resort in San Casciano dei Bagni.

Enjoy lunch in La Pineta restaurant, famous for the art of cooking and the delicious taste of the fish cuisine. Take in the splendid views over the lake from the restaurant.

This afternoon depart for Pienza to visit the birthplace of Pope Pius II birthplace. Designed with the precise architectural code to be the ideal Renaissance town, Pienza’s charm is enhanced by the white stone cathedral, Palazzo Piccolomini with its fine courtyard, Palazzo Borgia, a graceful Piazza and staggering views across the Val d’Orcia. After having had some time to stroll around town, depart for Fonteverde Natural Spa Resort.

Take advantage of the thermal pool, the bioaquam® circuit (with its various hydromassages) or any other spa treatment offered by the highly reputable spa resort of Fonteverde set in the midst of the rolling hills of the Val d’Orcia (southern Tuscany). Our suggestion for dinner would be La Frateria di Padre Eligio Mondo X (Cetona). La Frateria di Padre Eligio Mondo X has been created in one of the most beautiful monuments ever built by man – St. Francis’ Convent. Founded by St. Francis in 1212, you will find an authentic representation of convent life in the Dark Ages.

Accommodation: Fonteverde Natural Spa Resort (5*)

In the ancient spa of San Casciano Dei Bagni lies the Fonteverde Natural Spa Resort (5*). Here on the borders between Tuscany/Lazio and Umbria this aristocratic residence, built around a seventeenth-century portico, has been restored to its former splendour. Italian style and the art of hospitality flourish. An on-site avant-gard spa blends the natural environment and oriental discipline to produce a luxurious relaxation for the mind and body. Indeed, the mineral-rich, natural warm spring waters that emerge here have multiple therapeutic benefits.

At the wheel of his Alfa Romeo, your Tour Director will guide you on a picturesque route past ancient villages, vineyards and rolling farmland. Arrive in Siena, an unspoiled mediaeval city, world-renowned for its Palio horse race. Once the seat of power in the Province of Tuscany, evidence of the city’s glorious history is seen in the Town Hall (Palazzo Pubblico) and the staggering gothic Cathedral.

Stroll down to eat lunch at your leisure and watch the world go by in Siena’s main square Piazza del Campo.

After lunch visit the historical landmarks of Siena and then take some time to explore the shops and boutiques that line the winding cobbled streets. Depart by Ferrari for the Roman coast stopping off along the way at the charming town of Bagno Vignoni or San Quirico d’Orcia. Arrive in Ladispoli just outside Rome and check-in to the magnificent Hotel La Posta Vecchia.

*An alternative route today could take you through Orvieto – you can let your Tour Director know which route you would prefer to take today.*

On the waterfront, the clink of cutlery and the murmur of conversation mingle with the gentle lapping of the Tyrrhenian Sea… Welcome to La Posta Vecchia, a breathtakingly splendid house that used to belong to Paul Getty. The American billionaire transformed it into a temple of art, which preserved all of its natural splendour. Bathtubs in Carrara marble, Venetian chandeliers, Gobelins tapestries… this is the perfect address for those who like spacious artistic and sophisticated interiors, magnificent gardens, and who want to enjoy a sea view without staying too far from the excitement of Rome.
