Luxury in the Heart of Paris #travel

Ideally located opposite the Tuileries Garden, between Place de la Concorde and the Musée du Louvre, Le Meurice has held sway as the jewel in the crown of French luxury hotels since 1835. Reflecting its uninterrupted attachment to the French art of living, Le Meurice is a magical, serene place, where the refined splendours of 18th-century architecture meet the latest in contemporary comfort and elegance. Thanks to its very rich historical background, represented by famous painters, writers and other artists, Le Meurice is both the reflection and the setting for the French Genius of the art of living. Each of the seven floors has a distinct style, with 160 beautifully appointed rooms and suites decorated in a style redolent of Louis XVI with exquisite Italian marble bathrooms.

In 2007, the hotel came to a new embellishment phase of the living areas by Philippe Starck. Combining exceptional decoration, style and quality with contemporary chic, he added a modern twist whilst preserving the special atmosphere of luxury that is the very soul of this establishment.
The 3 Michelin starred Restaurant le Meurice, elevates Parisian gastronomy to the rank of art, and le Dali with its new culinary concept, where past and present meet with humour and glamour. Everything reminds you of Salvador Dali, one of the most famous clients of the hotel…

In the heart of Paris, a minute’s walk away from Place Vendôme and Rue Saint-Honoré, where luxury stores and boutiques showcasing young designers flourish, Le Meurice gradually unveils its secrets, a haven of peace where you can truly be yourself.

Unique Tour of France with Convertible Caravans

France

Convertible Caravans of Europe – “where the ordinary become the extraordinary!

At Convertibles Caravans of Europe, we want to share with you an “unordinary” way to see Europe. A destination that is more than merely historical sights, natural breathtaking beauty, fine arts, and spectacular food and wine, but an unique Extraordinary Experience … With your own personal CAR, your own personal GPS and your passionate leader, you “travel independently, yet together,” living the moments in one of our fabulous destinations.

France

There is much more to France than Paris. Although this historic city, capital and largest in France, is a magnet for all who come to France, there are many other regions to be explored.

Our caravan will take you through the southeastern part of the country, the sunny beaches and steep cliffs stretching along the coast on the Mediterranean Sea and through fishing villages and the peaceful Provence countryside with its spectacular landscapes, perched villages of castles, ocher cliffs, lavender fields, vineyards and dairy farms.

Travel with us to the Principality of Monaco with it’s Haute Couture lifestyle, to the City of Popes; Avignon, ride the wine roads of Burgundy, visit Lyon and Dijon and enjoy the genuine France “Tête-à-tête”. At the end of the tour, the City of Lights awaits you with it’s breathtaking history and culture.

  • Day 1: Nice / Saint-Paul de Vence / Vence (13 mi)

Arrival at Nice airport where we’ll meet our tour escort and guide.

Drive to the picturesque Saint-Paul de Vence, one of the oldest medieval towns on the French Riviera with cobblestone lanes and chic art galleries. The famous artist Marc Chagall lived here.

We will experience the village by foot and in the afternoon drive to Vence (10 min away) for overnight.

  • Day 2: Vence / Monaco / Eze / Vence (55 mi)

Full-day excursion on the French Riviera including a visit to the Principality of Monaco.

We’ll drive on the Formula One track and enjoy the views of La Condamine’s large harbor.

On our way back we’ll stop for tastings at a traditional Provence Olive Oil mill and visit the Fragonard Perfume factory and museum in the village of Eze.

    Overnight in Vence.

  • Day 3: Vence / Aix-en-Provence (108 mi)

We are driving towards Aix-en-Provence and will visit a local goat cheese producer in the countryside for tasting of the delicious cheeses.
Reaching Aix-en-Provence in the afternoon and visit to the beautiful city.

    Overnight in Aix-en-Provence.

  • Day 4: Aix-en-Provence / Gordes / Avignon (72 mi)

We’ll continue towards Avignon with a stop at the Lavender Museum near the Gordes village.
The village is classified as “Plus Beaux Villages de France”; among of the most stunning villages in France. It’s located on a hilltop with houses and buildings of white stone and an amazing labyrinth of “calades” (narrow cobblestone streets) that’ll overwhelm you with charm.

We’ll make another two stops on our way to Avignon in Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, a medieval village tucked in a “closed valley”, and L’isle-sur-la-Sorgue, where we have the opportunity to visit the paper mill dated back to the 15th century.

    Overnight in Avignon.

  • Day 5: Avignon / Chateauneuf-du-Pape / Pont du Gard / Avignon (31 mi)

We’ll spend the day in the area of Avignon in Provence to visit and have a delicious wine tasting at the local producers of Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines that’s entwined with papal history.

In 1308, Pope Clement V, the former Archbishop of Bordeaux, relocated the papacy to the city of Avignon. He was a great lover of wines and did much to promote it during the seventy-year duration of the Avignon Papacy.

We’ll also make a stop at the UNESCO World Heritage, the Antic Roman Pont du Gard (the Bridge of the Gard), and admire its stunning architecture as an aqueduct bridge. It’s the highest of all Roman aqueduct bridges and has three tiers of arches, standing 160 ft high.

    Overnight in Avignon.

  • Day 6: Avignon / Beaujolais / Lyon / Dijon (260 mi)

As we tasted “ancient wine” yesterday, we are going to experience “young wine” today moving into the Beaujolais wine district.
We’ll meet with a local producer, who will explain the traditions around the “Beaujolais Nouveau Day”; the races to get the first bottles to different markets around the globe.

We will also visit Lyon, the UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its historical and architectural landmarks.
Historically it was known as an important area for the production and weaving of silk. In our times Lyon has developed a reputation as the capital of gastronomy in France.

For those that join us, we will arrange a great picnic with local delicacies in the Burgundy region before we reach Dijon.

    Overnight in Dijon.

  • Day 7: Dijon / Burgundy wine road / Paris (190 mi)

A last visit at a local wine producer, this time on the Burgundy wine road to Beaune.

We’ll continue to Paris where we drop the cars at the airport and transfer into the center of the City of Lights.
Feel the unique aura of Paris.
We guarantee you that you’ll fall in love with this magical city.

    Overnight in Paris.

  • Day 8: Paris

We’ll lean back and enjoy an amazing city tour of Paris including a 1 hour Seine cruise on “Bateaux Parisiens”. There’s no better way to get to know the city.

We have kept the afternoon free for your own disposal.

We suggest that you enjoy the local life from a cafe or restaurant in the aristocratic district of Le Marais. Take time to sip on the famous aperitif “Kir” (blackcurrant liqueur topped with ice cold white wine) for an hour or two and enjoy a meal in the Place des Vosges, where you will find the Maison de Victor Hugo, whom lived there from 1832-1848.

  • Day 9: Paris

A day in Paris for leisure.

The guide will be at your disposal to assist with suggestions of how to spend a perfect day.
Perhaps visit one of the numerous and world famous museums, go shopping or join a cooking class …

In the evening we’ve arranged a farewell dinner in a traditional French restaurant.

    Last overnight in Paris.

  • Day 10: Paris – Departure

After an enjoyable breakfast, we’ll transfer to the airport by private motor coach for our departure to the U.S.
